日々、無数の瞬間が私の視界を通り過ぎてゆく中で、なんということのないありふれた場面が脳裏に焼き付き、ずっと記憶に残ることがある。残り続けるその瞬間をどうにか留めておきたくて、これまで写真を撮り続けてきた。
記憶とは極めて個人的で曖昧なものであるが、蓄積し可視化することにより他者との共有が可能になり、そこにある種の普遍性が生まれると考えている。
近年取り組んでいる透明な写真による立体のシリーズでは、多重露光ではない方法で像を重ねて新たなイメージを作り出すことにより、流れゆく視界の端をこぼれて焼き付いた記憶にさらに近づくことを目指している。
As countless daily moments pass through my eyes, the seemingly empty commonplace scenes tend to catch my eye and remain lodged in my memory. I take photographs to preserve these commonplace moments.
While memory can be personal and ambiguous, by accumulating and capturing memories, I believe a certain kind of universality can be created making it possible to share these memories with other people.
Over the last few years, I have been working with transparent images arranged as a three dimensional objects to express how these daily moments pass through my eyes and into my memory. This additional third dimension allows me to create new images by overlapping images in a manner that is not just based on multiple exposures on a two-dimensional surface.
